The proclamation ceremony for baritone player Spyros Sakkas, receiving an honorary doctorate at the School of Music Studies (Tuesday, 24 April 2018)

On April 24, 2018, the proclamation ceremony for the internationally renowned baritone player Spyros Sakkas takes place, bestowed upon him by the rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Pericles A. Mitkas, and the head of the School of Music Studies, Assistant Professor Emilios Cambouropoulos.

Ceremony program

  • Reading of the votes and attribution of the title by the head of the School of Music Studies.
  • Attribution of the famous and commemorative plaque of honour by the vice rector, Associate Professor Nikolaos Varsakelis.
  • Speech by the honoured baritone player Spyros K. Sakkas, titled “The human voice unconditional, without limits”, as well as an interpretation of the work of Manos Hadjidakis “Kapetan Michalis”, with a pianist accompaniment by the Assistant Professor Konstantinos Hardas.
